Day 28
Ah, Spring, you do love the dramatic.
Yesterday we were slammed with crazy weather. Tornado sirens went off three times during the day. Large hail pummeled the area. TV weather guys threw off their jackets and rolled up their sleeves as they navigated various green screens. Today the sun is out, and temps are hovering around 60 degrees. It was as though Mother Nature had done a little spring cleaning, so I figured I would do the same today. Along with my regular routine, I washed a few outside windows, cleaned the oven, and paid a bit more attention to details around the house. I threw open all the windows, letting in fresh air and sunshine.
Some people love to clean. I’ve seen Instagrams on all types of cleaning hacks, influencers looking intoxicated as they manically explain another method for cleaning out drain traps. Oh my goodness, so much astonishment for Magic Erasers and Windex! This is not me. Cleaning has always been a necessary chore. I like a clean home, yet have never really enjoyed the process.
But…today I am smiling. Windows sparkle, despite the ever present existence of dust bunnies under beds and in closet corners. Spring cleaning is like lifting a heavy blanket from an old attic chest. You open it up, finding wondrous treasures. That’s how I feel today. Our little cottage twinkles, showing off her cute self.
Ah, Spring, you are still my fav.
Willa is a fan, too.
