“Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers and me.” ~The Rainbow Connection, written by Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher, 1979
Confession: I love to dance in the grocery store aisles. Our local Dierbergs has the best song lists, and often I’m groovin’ as I pick items from the shelves. Sometimes I’ll catch the eye of another customer and mostly they smile or some even sing along. It’s our moment.
Today as we were picking out popsicles in the frozen foods, “Hold On” by Wilson Phillips came on, and immediately I began hum the lyrics, move a little, and play the air drums when appropriate. I thought this thirty-five year old song is particularly relevant these days.
“Don’t you know?
Don’t you know, things can change?
Things’ll go your way
If you can hold on for one more day?
Things’ll will go your way
Hold on for one more day.”
When we were walking out of the store, I glanced over my left shoulder to spy a rainbow over the strip mall…and then another one appeared! A double rainbow…nature’s amalgamation of physics and magic.
Happy Sunday, my loves. Hope you’re resting your busy minds and tender hearts with songs and dancing and maybe a popsicle. There’s hope everywhere….sometimes you just have to look up.
Hold On, written by Carnie Wilson, Glen Ballard, and Chynna Phillips, 1990

I can relate! This weekend I was fortunate enough to dance a jazz number with some wonderful women to Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know. The so g’s big question is certainly one I’ve been asking myself a lot lately as far as next steps… hope you continue to ‘Hold On’, I know I will ☺️🌈
I love this. Many a time have I embarrassed my daughter or niece singing along to the music at stores or restaurants.
