Day 32
A Stream of Babbling Words Connected by Webs of Gibberish (and prepositional phrases with a pinch of alliteration and a little thesaurus action)
I sit at my desk surrounded by writing books. Ten stacked in front of me. More in book cases. Prompts. Suggestions. Sage advice. Flipping through a few, hoping inspiration will bless me. I find thousands of ideas, yet……nothing. Nada. Nope.
Make the bed. Sip my coffee. Gaze out the window.
Should I wait until the afternoon? After exercise? Maybe a walk would help.
What should I write today? Something simple? Complex? Prose? Poetry?
How do I get motivated on this first full day of spring?
I’ve already written about flowers and gardens and parks. I need a spark, a lit match, a controlled burn.
There’s memories, emotions, struggles, flashes of ideas.
I spy two bunnies hopping after one another in our back yard. Who is after whom?
Hop. Hop. Hop. (Cute, yet I’ve read that wild rabbits can be vicious. Nature has a wicked sensibility.)
Coffee cooling, cream congealing.
Tick. Tick. Tick. Minutes of nonsensical ramblings stream across my screen.
Fingers freeze on the keyboard. Cursor is blinking, mocking feeble attempts at this awkward connection of words.
Blink. Blink. Blink.
Check email. Scroll Instagram. What’s the weather forecast?
Here I sit.
Wondering. Pondering. Ruminating.
Stepping into spring with silly streams of senseless sentences.
Stupendous!
